V následující práci přinášíme popis průběhu akutní myokarditidy u 2 mladých mužů, upozorňujeme na nutnost odlišení tohoto onemocnění od akutních forem ischemické choroby srdeční, což je důležité vzhledem k naprosto odlišné léčbě obou chorob. I dnes, v době propracovaných diagnostických postupů, zůstává poznání akutního zánětlivého postižení myokardu v některých případech velmi obtížné a diagnóza myokarditidy stále patří k nejobtížnějším a nejspornějším v kardiologii. Je to způsobeno kromě neexistence specifického diagnostického testu rychle dostupného v běžné praxi hlavně značnou variabilitou klinického obrazu onemocnění, který kolísá v širokém rozmezí od asymptomatického průběhu až k fulminantním formám s kardiogenním šokem.
