Enterokoková infekční endokarditida nativní aortální chlopně jako následek diagnostické transrektální punkční biopsie prostaty

Autoři předkládají kazuistiku 63letého pacienta, u kterého byla na základě typického echokardiografického nálezu a pozitivních hemokultur diagnostikována enterokoková infekční endokarditida nativní dosud intaktní aortální chlopně. Rozvoji onemocnění předcházela diagnostická transrektální biopsie prostaty. Endokarditida způsobila destrukci chlopně a významnou aortální regurgitaci, která vedla k progresivní dilataci levé komory s nutností náhrady chlopně mechanickou protézou.
