Neaterosklerotické příčiny vzniku srdečního infarktu jsou relativně vzácné, přesto však existuje větší množství onemocnění, která mohou tuto komplikaci způsobit. V uvedené souvislosti autoři poukazují na existenci primárního srdečního myxomu, který vedl k fatálnímu infarktu myokardu embolizací do obou koronárních tepen. S podobným pozorováním jsme se v dostupné literatuře nesetkali. Předložená kazuistika je rovněž upozorněním na významný diagnostický přínos echokardiografie, která pak může otevřít cestu i k eventuálním život zachraňujícím výkonům.
