Hemoroidální obtíže postihnou alespoň jednou za život více než polovinu populace. Stanovení správné diagnózy a volba léčby, odpovídající rozsahu postižení, jsou základními předpoklady úspěchu ošetření. Formou přehledu jsou uvedeny etiologické a patogenetické faktory, klasifikace, diagnostika, základní principy konzervativní, semiinvazivní a operační léčby a prognóza. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována diagnostice a léčbě akutních komplikací hemoroidů.

Zvlášť zdůrazněna je důležitost podrobného vyšetření při symptomatickém onemocnění a nezbytnost diferenciálně diagnostické rozvahy, aby se nepřehlédla závažnější afekce, zejména nádor.

Hemorrhoids

More than a half of the population suffer from haemorrhoidal problems during their life. The proper diagnosis followed by an adequate treatment are the fundamental conditions for a successful solution to this problem. Aetiology, pathogenesis, classification, diagnosis, main principles of conservatiion, sem-invasive and surgical treatment and prognosis are presented in the form of an overview. Special attention is given to the diagnosis and treatment of acute haemorrhoidal complications. Specific investigations and differential diagnoses are emphasised and are necessary to consider to eliminate other serious entities such as a tumour.
