Akutní apendicitida je nejčastější náhlou příhodou břišní vyžadující operaci. Stanovení správné diagnózy je klíčovým předpokladem úspěšné léčby. Formou přehledu jsou uvedeny etiologické a patogenetické faktory, klinický obraz, diagnostika, diferenciální diagnostika a léčba. Pozornost je věnována také zvláštním formám a komplikacím akutní apendicitidy.

Acute appendicitis

Acute appendicitis is the most frequent sudden abdominal episode requiring a surgery. Proper diagnosis is a key prerequisite for successful treatment. Aetiological and pathogenetic factors, clinical picture, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment are presented as an overview. Attention is also paid to unusual forms and complications of acute appendicitis.
