Hlavní téma tohoto čísla Neurologie pro praxi je věnováno okruhu onemocnění, kterým se anglicky souhrnně říká movement disorders a česky, poněkud nepřesně, onemocnění extrapyramidového systému. Společným jmenovatelem této skupiny chorob a syndromů jsou degenerativní procesy postihující mozkové podkorové struktury, které se podílejí na centrálním řízení hybnosti. Je postižen zejména, ale ne pouze, extrapyramidový systém a tato onemocnění se projevují hlavně, i když ne jenom, poruchami hybnosti. K nim se přidružují další příznaky, vyplývající z postižení dalších struktur, např. poruchy vegetativního systému nebo kognitivních funkcí...
