Poměr mezi počtem umělých potratů a užíváním moderní antikoncepce je výrazem vyspělosti a kulturní úrovně každé země. Ve vyspělých zemích je možno konstatovat všeobecně patrnou tendenci k liberalizaci potratových zákonů, současně je však zaznamenáván nižší počet potratů v důsledku užívání spolehlivých antikoncepčních metod. Tyto skutečnosti přispí-vají k upevnění sexuálního a reprodukčního zdraví. Česká republika se těmito parametry zařadila mezi vyspělé evropské země.

CONTRACEPTION AND ABORTIONS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND WORLDWIDE

The proportion of the number of artificial abortions due to the use of modern oral contraceptives reflects the maturity and cultural level of a particular country. In the developed countries there has been noted a significant trend towards the libera-lization of abortion laws and at the same time the number of abortions has decreased as a consequence of the use of reliable contraceptive methods. These facts contribute to the process of establishing sexual and reproductive health. Due to these data the Czech Republic has ranked itself among other developed European countries.
